Size Guides

Size Guides

Where possible our product descriptions will contain fitting information, including size charts for clothing, and conversion charts for shoes. These charts are to be used as a guide only and do not take the place of a personal fitting. If possible personal fittings are recommended. Stepping Out are happy to exchange products of incorrect size, please check our information pages Delivery & Returns for the terms and conditions that apply.

Please refer the Size Guide that corresponds with your chosen brand.

SHOE FITTING

Please read the information provided in the product description of each product as fittings may vary according to brand. Many shoes have custom size guides shown in the product description. Tips to help you choose shoe size:
  • Check the product description for fitting details such as; whether a shoe has a wide or narrow fitting, small or generous sizing, and follow accordingly.
  • Check whether shoes are Fractional (US, street size), or Straight (UK, school shoe size )
If you are unsure of the shoe size please provide the following information in the 'Special Instruction' area in the Shopping Cart.
    • Current regular shoe size and type of shoe.
    • If the foot is narrow, average or wide.
    • Do you wish to have growing room or a firm fit.
    • Measurement of the foot as per information below.
    How to measure your foot

    How to Measure Your Feet

    • Place a piece of paper on a hard floor
    • Place the foot on the paper without pressure (measure sitting down)
    • Mark the end of the heel (note the heel is curved and you need to mark the end as per diagram)
    • Mark the end of the longest toe
    • Measure between these points with a ruler (not tape measure) in cm.
    • If you wish you could trace around the foot and also measure the widest part of the foot
Remember to measure both feet as they will differ slightly, for a tight fit go by the smallest measurement and stretch the shoe to the larger foot, or for comfort/growing room go by the largest measurement.

Stepping Out offer this information as a guide only and are not responsible for incorrectly chosen sizes, personal fittings are always recommended.
